Danielle Baker

Little Sprouts Child Development Center

Danielle Baker is the owner and lead educator at Little Sprouts Child Development Center, L.L.C. in Eaton Rapids.

After a decade as a chemist, she set down her safety glasses, traded her pipettes for preschoolers, and discovered her true calling in early childhood education.

In 2016, she began building Little Sprouts from the ground up, officially opening its doors in 2018. Every morning for the past eight years, she has walked through those classroom doors with coffee in one hand and a heart full of enthusiasm in the other—ready to create a safe, nurturing, and joy-filled environment where curiosity blooms.

She believes that early childhood education is about more than playtime and nap schedules (though she certainly appreciates a good nap!). It’s about building foundations, cultivating kindness, and empowering families.

Daycare directing isn’t just her job—it’s her calling. She thrives on the daily “aha!” moments: when a five-year-old finally ties their shoes, when a shy child takes a brave first step toward new friendships, when parents send heartfelt notes about how her little classroom has become a second home for their family.

Danielle truly lives to be part of her community’s village. She considers her students, parents, and staff part of her extended family.
